The Doors: The Soft Parade - A Retrospective

The Doors: The Soft Parade - A Retrospective
This historic music video features as it's centerpiece The Doors' last televised appearance, aired on PBS in 1969 in the wake of the notorious Miami concert which resulted not only in Jim Morrison's arrest, but the cancellation of an entire tour. Public television provided the only alternative for The Doors to present themselves in an uncensored environment, and the result is an arresting of a mature band at the peak of it's musical powers. Additional material drawn from the Doors private archives includes footage from the riotous 1968 tour of America and never before seen interviews. On and off stage, spirits up and guards down, here is a true and fascinating portraait of Jim Morrison and The Doors as artists, musicians, performers and people. Songs include: The Changeling; Wishful Sinful; Wild Child; Build Me A Woman; The Unknown Soldier; The Soft Parade; Hello I Love You. 65 min.

 The Doors Soundstages

The Doors Soundstages
Very rare videotape edition of this new Doors DVD. Truely a unique compilation of three completely different Doors performances at three distinct stages in their career. Hailing from three diverse enviroments, Toronto, Denmark, and New York City, The Doors appear in the springtime of their youth performing 'The End' on a Toronto Soundstage in 1967; During their ascent on their only European tour in 1968, and again in their maturity for public television on a soundstage in New York in 1969, where they design to give an interview and a bearded Jim Morrison conducts his only on camera interview just a few short months after his arrest in Miami, FL. The concept of the Soundstage Performances laid the way to assemble all three appearances on one DVD. The majority of the material has never been seen before. Not only is it rare, but it is startingly great. Providing commentary are all three remaining Doors. Very recommended! 60 min.

Oakley Krieger Band featuring Robby Krieger
Out of print. Signed on front by Waylon Krieger and Berry Oakley Jr.   Blood will tell, they say, and the Oakley Krieger Band make a convincing case for the old adage. Featuring sons of some of rock & roll's most influential players - Berry Oakley Jr., son of the original Allman Brothers bassist; Waylon Krieger, son of Doors-man Robby Krieger; and Duane Betts, sired by none other than Allmans' guitar monster Dickey Betts - this combo has been cranking out a sound they call "blueternative music," drawing strong crowds and impressive guest talent. Robby Krieger is a frequent visitor as he was on the night this video was shot on March 15th, 1997 when they played the famous Los Angeles Whiskey A-Go-Go, where years before The Doors had headlined. 101 min.

 Beyond The Doors

Beyond The Doors
Out of print. The video's liner notes say: Jimi Hendrix: The king of rock. A pleasure seeking superstar who blasted his way into college campuses with his music, drugs and erotica. Dead at 27. Janis Joplin: A free spirited symbol of the sixties who was a hard drinking, hard lovin' texas mama who gloried in tearing at her throat as she sang. Dead at 27. Jim Morrison: Founder of The Doors. His performances turned into orgies and his beautiful poetry became dark, eerie rock, protesting aginst the ravagings of the earth. Dead at 27. Their music got them killed! Why? How? Where? They were too powerful - they had to be silenced! Assasinated for the good of America? Find out why. 117 min.
